Everything was very straightforward, I was asked to buy additional insurance by Avis for breakdown etc, so it would have been useful to understand this wasn't included in the quoted price - if it was stated it wasn't obvious. It would be useful for you or the rental companies to provide more information on how pick up and drop offs work at the specific airports. Finding the drop off place a San Francisco was not great, as the address stated and google maps puts them in slightly different places - and the attendant joked that finding the garage wasn't easy.

Although moderate in size, there are three passenger terminals in the airport that are all connected by shuttle bus. The best way to reach the city centre from the air facility is with cheap car hire at San Diego Airport (SAN).

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 serve 18 larger commercial airlines, including Air Canada and United Airlines. The busiest terminal is undoubtedly Terminal 2, carrying a bulk of the 15 million passengers each year. The third terminal operates the smaller, commuter destinations, with airlines including American Eagle and Delta Connection flying in and out of this facility.

San Diego Airport (SAN) rivals other larger airports around North America in services and facilities. Budget car rental, shuttle bus services, money transfer and exchange, security booths, information desks are among the facilities provided to customers of the airport.

San Diego Airport (SAN) also offers a vast range of menus in the many restaurants. Passengers can dine in comfort while waiting for departure. All three terminals provide restaurants and coffee shops; however, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 possess most of these. Airline members can take it easy while they await departure in one of the respective airline lounge or members room, such as the United Red Carpet or Delta Crown rooms.

Due to the airport's close proximity to downtown San Diego, transportation from the airport is not only in abundance, but also inexpensive and generally quick.  What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

 How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).

 When will I get a confirmation of my booking?

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
