The instructions for pick up

The instructions for pick up should have said to call the staff for a pick up as it was a long walk in the heat and poorly sign posted. When we got there they said we should have called them for a lift!

Sicily is the ball at the bottom of Italy's boot, the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and home to a rich and interesting history dating back to 700 BC. The landscape is varied with everything from stunning beaches and coastline to farmlands and snowcapped mountains. Getting a hire car in Sicily is the best way to see the island.

The capital city, Palermo, is situated on the northern coast and is the location of an international airport and car rental outlets. Palermo has an array of impressive historic buildings and monuments such as the Massimo Theatre, Palace of the Normans and the cathedral's portico. The city is also known for its outstanding citrus orchids that produce lemons and oranges.

Catania is another main city in Sicily and is found at the base of the impressive Mount Etna. Catania has charming cobble stone streets which are home to countless alfresco cafés and bustling bars. There are also some fantastic historic buildings to visit including Ursino Castle, the Roman Theatre and Duomo Square.

Accommodation in Sicily ranges from comfortable yet affordable guest houses to five-star luxury resorts. Across the island in all the villages and cities, the restaurants and cafés serve Italian styled cuisine.

One place not to be missed in Sicily is Mount Etna, which in the winter months has substantial snowfall allowing for great skiing conditions. The mountain is located in the east of the island near to Catania. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

Only rental companies with a high level of customer satisfaction are eligible to be included in our Worry-Free selection. This rate includes excess cover and unlimited kilometres. Your vehicle will be provided and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. With a vehicle from our Worry-Free selection, you can travel with peace of mind and no hidden costs.

 How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).

 When will I get a confirmation of my booking?

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
