Everything was very straightforward, I was asked to buy additional insurance by Avis for breakdown etc, so it would have been useful to understand this wasn't included in the quoted price - if it was stated it wasn't obvious. It would be useful for you or the rental companies to provide more information on how pick up and drop offs work at the specific airports. Finding the drop off place a San Francisco was not great, as the address stated and google maps puts them in slightly different places - and the attendant joked that finding the garage wasn't easy.

The only minor issue has

The only minor issue has to do with the windshield of the car. What ever cleaning product that was used was vey greasy and difficult to see thru the steaks. First stop was the Store for some windex wipes. Everything else was perfect

The airport serves 20 different airlines, and acts as an entry point for Florence and the surrounding areas. The terminal opens at 04:00 and remains open until the last flight arrives/departs. Visitors will find ATMs, currency exchange, and internet kiosks upon entering the terminal. Shuttles are provided to the car rental terminal.

Vehicles can be left at long term parking located in the ground lots outside the terminal. The multi storey garage is reserved for short term parking only. Ticket booths for both parking areas are open 24 hours a day.

Once on the ground passengers may opt to use local train transport to reach Pisa or Florence. The train station is accessible via a covered walkway accessed from inside the airport terminal. Taxis can be hired at the airport information desk or hailed directly outside the terminal. Cheap car hire at Florence International Airport is found in a separate building. Shuttles are available to transport passengers to the budget car rental facility.
