Formally known as the Ataturk International Airport, the Istanbul Airport serves as the main gateway to the sights and sounds of Istanbul. Because of the large passenger traffic reaching 28.5 million in 2008, the airport is the 10th busiest airport in Europe. The same airport houses the domestic airport that enables travellers to get to various parts of the country. Travelling to other parts of Istanbul is complemented by the car hire in Istanbul Airport.

There are two passenger terminals in Istanbul Airport namely Terminal A for international flights and Terminal B for domestic flights. There is another terminal, Terminal C, but it serves as the cargo terminal. Terminal B is actually the old international airport but ever since the construction of the new international airport finished, it was transformed into the domestic terminal.

A sufficient number of facilities are available at the Istanbul Airport to complement the travel needs of every passenger. Information desks can be found in both passenger terminals for information on airport services and facilities as well as tourist and hotel information in the city. For money needs, ATMs, currency exchange facilities, and banks are offering their services to passengers while communication needs are complemented by post offices. 24-hour restaurants and shops that include a bazaar and Duty-free stores are also available. The Istanbul Airport also has child-friendly facilities like a playroom and baby-care rooms. For medical emergencies, passengers are assisted by a 24-hour pharmacy and a first aid station while business travellers can benefit from using the conference centre with three conference halls for meetings and seminars.

Budget car rental is one of the transportation options that passengers can choose to drive conveniently to the city. Cheap car hire at Istanbul Airport is offered at the arrivals area of the arrivals terminal. Passengers also have the option to take the bus to Taksim Square or to Akmerkez. Taxis can also be found outside the terminal, otherwise, passengers can ride the light rail metro system from the airport to the Esenler Terminal.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

Only rental companies with a high level of customer satisfaction are eligible to be included in our Worry-Free selection. This rate includes excess cover and unlimited kilometres. Your vehicle will be provided and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. With a vehicle from our Worry-Free selection, you can travel with peace of mind and no hidden costs.

 How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).

 When will I get a confirmation of my booking?

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
